Learn how to add multiple users to your Bonusly account with the bulk upload feature.

There are several easy ways to invite your colleagues to join you on Bonusly:

This article will show you how to add Users via the User Management site and using the company's unique link.

Adding a single user on Bonusly

  1. To add one user at a time head over to your admin setting page and click the Add Users button at the top-left of the page. On this User's Accu page, you can add, edit and deactivate users in your account.

  2. A dialogue will appear, allowing you to enter the new user's information. Once you click the Save button, they'll receive an email invitation to join your account.
    ​

πŸ’‘ Tip: 'Department' [ex: Marketing] and 'Location' [ex: Chicago] are optional.

Bulk uploading multiple Users from CSV/XLSX File

Whether you’re uploading your user list for the first time, or adding a group of new employees to your account, adding multiple users at once is easy with our bulk upload feature!

  1. To add multiple users at a time head over to your admin setting page and click the Bulk Upload Users button at the top-left of the page. With this feature, you can add, edit or archive multiple users all at once.

  2. Once clicked it will take you to the Bulk Import Users page with two options to choose from:

    1. Bulk Import from CSV/XLSX File

    This option allows you to invite new users to your account and upload important user data such as name, department, hire date, and more.

    2. Bulk Add From a List of Email Addresses

    Use this option to quickly invite new teammates. Later, you can add user information manually by editing each user individually or in bulk.

  3. You can add all your users at once by uploading a CSV or XLSX file. The headers need to be specifically formatted for the program to read and upload them.
    ​

    Download the preformatted spreadsheet and save a version to your desktop. In your copy, include at least the first name, last name, and email address for each entry to ensure a successful upload. For richer data analytics in Bonusly, we recommend filling out the spreadsheet as completely as possible. If you need to add additional fields not listed, contact our support team for assistance in adding those specific fields to your account.

    By following these instructions, you'll ensure a smooth upload process and gain better insights from your data.

    If you would like to make your spreadsheet from scratch, the headers are as follows:
    ​
    ​Required:

    • first_name

    • last_name

    • email

    Optional:

The information will look something like this:

πŸ’‘ Pro Formatting Tip: To ensure a successful and timely upload, please make sure your .csv or .xlsx file is free of excess empty columns or rows and does not contain headers outside of the above list of supported headers.

4. Once you've completed this form, head back to the Bulk Import users page, click on Choose a file, select the file you would like to upload, and then you can click on the Upload button. The option to deactivate users not on the list will immediately archive any users not listed.

5. On the Confirm Upload page, you'll see a list of new users and updates that you are making to your account. This allows you to review and verify changes before submitting. When you are ready to finalize your upload, click the Import button.

You will then have two options to complete your upload:

​Invite Now, which sends an email invite immediately to the new users, giving them instant access to Bonusly and making them appear on the Users Manage page
​
​Finish Later, which saves your progress and allows you to invite everyone at a later date through our Imported Users page. This is a good option if you need more time before sending out the invites. This is a good option to choose to preload your users before your launch day. Users will upload into Bonusly in an activatable state, but will not have access to the platform until activated.

Bulk upload users via email list

  1. To add multiple users at a time head over to your admin setting page and click the Bulk Upload Users button at the top-left of the page. With this feature, you can add, edit or archive multiple users all at once.

  2. Add the emails of the colleagues you'd like to invite, separated by commas, and click the Add button.
    ​

  3. You'll be taken to a verification page to confirm the emails you're adding. At the bottom of the list, click the Add Users button, and they'll receive automated email invitations to join your Bonusly account.

🚨 Important: As soon as you click the Add Users button, your new users will immediately receive an invitation to join your Bonusly account.

Adding user via the company's unique invite link

  1. Under Company Settings, click on Account Settings to see the option to share your company invite link. Make sure to click the blue tick box.

  2. Then, click the Copy Link button, and share the link with anyone you'd like to invite to your account.

πŸ’‘ Tip: You must have 'Auto-Join' enabled for your company's unique invite link to appear.
