If you're looking to give recognition to a large group of your employees at the same time, we’ve got some tips to help you do that! Below you'll find best practices for giving out recognition to a large group:

Group handles make it easy to give to specific groups

Use the recipient menu to give to a team, department, location, or even everyone at your company. Each group type will be represented by a different icon and color so you can quickly understand group name, type of group, and how many people are in the group.

Start by typing the "@" symbol and the type of group (Team, Department, Location, Everyone) or the name of the group you have in mind.

Then select the group from the Recipient menu to add it to your recognition post.

Finish up your post by adding in the amount, hashtag, and meaningful recognition and that's it! You're ready to recognize a group or groups of users including everyone at your organization!

Note: In order to give points to large groups, you need to have enough points available in your giveable balance. If you are running low, you can redeem for a points boost in the reward catalog or request a points boost from one of your Bonusly admins if applicable.

Don't see location, department, or team in your account? Make sure you have all user profile data filled out we can properly pull this information to give group recognition. You can always reach out to your CSM or [email protected] to integrate with your HRIS and automate this data feed!

Viewing Group Information

Wherever a group handle or avatar appears in a post, users can hover over the handle to open the group popover.

The group popover has general group info (name, type, number of people) and lists the first 20 people in the group. If there are less than 20 people, all group member names will be listed. If there are more than 20 people, clicking “and # more” will reveal the remaining names of all group members.

Note: @everyone, will not sure the list of all people

Editing Groups for more specific recognition

In the givebox, hover over the group to view the the group information in the popover. Then click on “Expand group” to easily edit who should receive the post.

Note: Only department, team, and location groups can be expanded. Everyone cannot.

To edit the list of users, delete anyone you do not want to receive the post. You can also add anyone who is not in the group, but you want to also recognize in the post.

FAQ

Can I give recognition on behalf of another user?

No, you cannot give recognition on behalf of another user. Recognition is meant to be a personal gesture of appreciation, and the system is designed to track individual contributions.

Can I create my own custom group?

No, currently, you cannot create groups. Groups are pre-defined based on data in your Bonusly account and limited to department, location, and team and everyone.

What if someone is in two different groups?

If there are duplicate users between multiple groups, like @product and @judith.bartels.team, points will only be given to unique users.

If the giver is included in the recipient group, will they receive points?

No, the giver will NOT receive points.

In other words, similar to how Bonusly has always worked users CANNOT give to themselves.
