What are Awards?
Awards allow you to create company-funded awards, which means your company is recognizing individuals instead of recognition coming from peers. Before you can give an award, one of your Bonusly admins will need to create Awards in your Bonusly account, which you can read about here.
There are two types of Awards: templated and non-templated.
Templated Awards have pre-set information to standardize recognition for specific amounts and events. You won’t need to customize the message each time, so a quick and easy template makes it simple to recognize company-wide initiatives.
Non-templated Awards allow you to customize the message each time new recognition is given, making it easy to tailor the message and recognition amount.
Giving Awards
If you have permission to give out awards, you will see an Awards button in your recognition box. When you click the button, any awards available for you to give out will appear.
First, you'll see Non-templated Awards followed by Templated Awards. Plus, on the right-hand side, you'll see the available budget for that award, so you know how much you can give out!
Giving a Non-templated Award:
To give out a Non-templated Award, select the award you would like to give and then click the Next button.
Now you can customize the award just like you would a recognition post, except by giving an award, the points will come from the award budget, not your personal giveable allowance! 🎉
To send the award, click the Award button in the lower right corner. The award recognition will post to the homepage and notify the user they've received an award!
Giving a Templated Award:
To give out a Templated Award, select the award you would like to give and then click the Next button. The recognition amount and reason are already in the draft post and cannot be changed in a Templated Award. All you need to do is add in the person or people you'd live to give the award to and click the Award button. Easy, right?! 🔥
Add a personal message to templated Awards
While the core recognition is a standardized template and cannot be changed, Award givers can further personalize an Award by added their own message!
Just like the Non-Templated Award, the recognition will be posted to the homepage and notify the user!
That's it! Now you can start giving standardized bonuses from the company for specific contributions and events! 🎉
Giving Group Awards
Group handles make it easy to give Awards to specific groups
Use the recipient menu to give to a team, department, location, or even everyone at your company. Each group type will be represented by a different icon and color so you can quickly understand group name, type of group, and how many people are in the group.
Start by typing the "@" symbol type of group (Team, Department, Location, Everyone) or the name of the group you have in mind.
Then select the group from the Recipient menu to add it to your Award post.
Once you enter a point amount to give, the “Award points” button updates to show the total number of points that will be given with this award.
Hide Giver Name for Awards
To keep your the giver of an Award anonymous, simply uncheck the box labeled "Show my name on award post."
**Note: By default, the giver's name is displayed, so this box will be checked unless you change it.
Visibility Settings
Depending on the setup of the Award, you may see the option to update the whether the recognition posts publicly, privately, or only to relevant teammates.
If an award has a default setting that is not editible, this field will be grayed out and display the default setting.
