Managing the Rewards Catalog

Customize your company's rewards catalog: apply global settings, manage collections, and control which items your team can redeem.

Updated yesterday

When someone redeems their points, they should find rewards that feel valuable and meaningful—whether that's a gift card with instant flexibility, a curated gift that shows up at their door, a donation to a cause they care about, or an exclusive item that shows their company pride.

As a global or rewards admin, you control which rewards are available to your team. Here's how to customize your catalog so it works for your organization.

Manage global catalog settings

To make broad changes that affect your entire rewards catalog, go to Rewards Catalog in the admin settings 'Company' menu. Changes you make here apply to all rewards in every country. These settings don't affect custom rewards (company exclusives).

  1. Choose which reward types you want in your catalog. If you uncheck a reward type, all items that match that type will be removed from your catalog in all countries.

  2. Set a maximum reward price. Choose the highest amount employees can redeem. If you're running a peer-to-peer recognition program, consider how many points users receive each month—this helps you understand how long it might take someone to earn enough for your highest-priced reward. By default, there's no price limit. Very few rewards are valued at $500 USD or higher.

  3. Manage promoted rewards. You can highlight specific rewards to make them easier for employees to find. Read the Admin Promoted Rewards article to learn more.

  4. Control how new rewards are added. Either automatically add new rewards or opt out. If you choose to automatically add new rewards, items are added to your catalog as they become available, so your team always has fresh options. If you opt out, you'll need to review and add new items yourself. If you choose this option, you'll want to check back regularly so your catalog doesn't go stale.

Important: Changes to catalog settings take effect immediately—however, please be patient because it may take up to 1 hour for all updates to go into effect.

Remove individual rewards from your catalog

Sometimes you'll want to remove specific items—maybe a reward doesn't fit your culture or you want to control costs. Here's how to remove individual rewards.

  1. Go to Rewards Catalog. Scroll to the Bonusly catalog section.

  2. Select a country. Choose the country where the reward is located. The screen should refresh to show rewards available in the selected country. For more information, reference the Turn Off Rewards by Country article.

  3. Modify reward availability. Based on the reward type, there are different ways to change availability:

    1. Gift cards and donations

      1. Remove all denominations: Click the "Remove All" button next to a reward to delete every denomination option for that reward in the selected country.

      2. Remove specific denominations: If you only want to remove certain denominations (like $100 gift cards but keep $25 and $50), click the individual amounts you want to remove.

    2. Curated gifts

      1. Remove each item: Click the "Remove" button next to the item you want to take out of the catalog.

Note: If an item is available in multiple countries, you'll be prompted to choose whether to remove it from all country catalogs or only the selected country. Check other locations and remove comparable items to keep your catalog consistent across regions.

Modify available collections

Collections are curated groups of gifts organized around themes—like Holiday or Team Gifts. You control which collections are visible to your team.

  1. Manage collections. In the Bonusly catalog section, select "Curated gifts" to view all available collections.

  2. Explore collection items. Learn which rewards are in each collection by opening the menu in the top right corner then visiting the collection details page.

  3. Check rewards available in different countries. On the collection details page, select a country to see which items are available there. Collections support multiple countries, but you'll need to verify availability for the locations you care about. Your global catalog settings apply to items in collections too.

  4. Hide or show collections.

    1. To hide a collection from employees, click "Hide collection." This hides the collection across all countries, but individual items remain available elsewhere in your catalog.

    2. To make a hidden collection visible again, choose "Show collection" from the collection menu or the collection details page.

  5. Verify what employees see. Collections appear in Rewards. You can check which collections are visible by browsing the rewards catalog from your own account.

Note: If you see an item in a collection that you want to remove entirely, follow the steps to remove that individual reward.

Frequently asked questions

Which rewards do global rewards catalog settings apply to?

Catalog settings apply to all rewards except custom rewards (company exclusives), regardless of whether items appear in a collection. Global settings apply across all countries.

Why are catalog settings and some reward prices shown in USD? How does this affect what employees see?

Bonusly is US-based, but we support hundreds of countries and currencies. To keep admin controls simple, we use USD. Your employees see prices in the currency listed in their user profile settings.

Can I re-add rewards I've previously removed?

Yes. Click individual denominations to turn them back on, or select "Add All" to restore all available denominations for that reward.

Can I add new denominations for existing gift cards?

Our third-party vendors determine which amounts are available for each gift card. They specify the redemption options for their cards, so we can't add denominations beyond what they provide.

Can I add or remove rewards from a collection?

You can't modify collection contents directly, but you can remove individual rewards from your catalog—which removes that item from any collection it appears in.

Can I create my own collection?

Not yet.

Making your catalog work for your team

Your rewards catalog should reflect what matters to your organization. Whether you want to encourage peer-to-peer gifting with lower-priced options, promote charitable giving, or showcase premium items people can save up for—you have the flexibility to shape an experience that makes recognition feel real and valuable.
