The Recognition Score report gives you a comprehensive look at the quality score of recognition happening across your company. This report, located in your Admin Settings, helps you understand what makes recognition truly impactful and provides insights you can use to improve how your team shows appreciation.
Recognition Quality Score
Powered by AI, the quality score evaluates the richness of recognition to score how meaningful that recognition likely is to the receiver. The score is built on research-backed principles and rooted in what we know about how meaningful recognition drives motivation and connection.
The Recognition Quality Score is measured across several dimensions in Bonusly:
Specificity: Clearly describes what the recipient did. Avoids vague praise and points to exact actions or behaviors.
Impact: Explains why the action mattered — to the team, a customer, or the business. Even small wins or everyday impacts count.
Values Alignment: Connects the recognition to company values (explicitly or implicitly) and reflects what living those values looks like in your industry.
Personalization: Highlights the recipient’s unique style, strength, or role — what they bring that makes a difference (e.g., calm leadership, humor, creativity, attention to detail).
Authenticity: Feels authentic and thoughtful, not templated or generic. Shows emotional effort or genuine intent.
These dimensions are automatically measured for each piece of recognition with the Gratitude Gauge to provide real-time writing coaching when giving recognition.
Gratitude Gauge
The Gratitude Gauge offers real-time writing coaching directly within the recognition box on desktop, mobile, and MS Teams. (Note: This feature is not available on Slack.)
