Whether you’re a peer wanting to thank someone for last-minute support covering a shift, a manager highlighting a job well done, or a CEO sharing a milestone for the whole organization, video adds layers of emotion—tone of voice, smiles, even a celebratory wave—that text alone simply can’t capture.
Recording Video Recognition
Using video when you give recognition is a great way to add a personal touch to your posts. Bonusly makes it easy to add video to your recognition.
To record a new video for your recognition post:
Click the Give recognition button at the top of the Bonusly homepage.
Click the Record a video button.
Fine-tune your camera and microphone settings using the gear icon. Then, click the red record button or press the spacebar to start recording. There will be a three second countdown before the recording begins.
When you're done, click the red stop button to stop the recording. When only 20 seconds remain, the timer outline turns yellow. When only 10 seconds remain, the timer outline changes to red.
Preview your recording. Then, click Add to recognition to add the recording to your recognition post. Click Restart to restart your recording or click Download to download your recording.
Add a recipient, amount, and hashtag to your post.
Click the Give recognition button to submit your recognition post.
Attaching a pre-recorded video to recognition
To attach a video file to your recognition post:
Click the Give recognition button at the top of the Bonusly homepage.
Click the Add media button.
Note: You also drag and drop a video or image file into the Give recognition popup window to attach it to your post.
Next, choose a file to upload. If the file is too large, an error will appear.
Use the thumbnail preview to confirm the video has uploaded successfully.
Add a recipient, amount, and hashtag to your post.
Click the Give recognition button to submit your recognition post.
Moments in Motion
The Moments in Motion section is a video carousel on your Bonusly homepage that showcases the 10 most recent video recognitions shared across your organization. Positioned between the Give box and the recognition feed, this carousel puts a spotlight on the human moments that make recognition more personal and impactful.
Click one of the video previews to view the full recognition post. You can also click the Join in box to start your own video recognition post.
Opting out of Video Recognition
Administrators can enable and disable video attachments on recognition posts on the Account settings page (Company > Account settings).
