Bonusly runs on the computers, tablets, mobile and TVs you already have, with no software to install and no new email accounts to manage. Every session signs out on its own, and every display can only show posts.
This article is for IT, security, and procurement teams reviewing a frontline or deskless rollout. It covers sign-in, sessions, and data for Kiosk Mode, Digital Signage, and the Bonusly mobile app in one place.
Kiosk Mode: shared computers and tablets
Kiosk Mode lets many people use Bonusly on one shared device, such as a nurses' station computer or a break room iPad. Each person signs in as themselves, so every bonus, nomination, and incentive claim goes to the right account.
Bonusly signs a person out after 5 minutes of inactivity and returns to the sign-in page for the next person.
Signing out on a kiosk signs that person out everywhere, including their phone and other browsers.
A Kiosk Mode banner shows on the device and stays on until an admin turns it off on that same device.
Kiosk Mode works with SSO. People sign in through your SSO provider as usual.
It runs in any modern browser that allows cookies, on desktops, laptops, iPads, and other tablets. There is nothing to install.
Point-of-sale terminals work only if they open a standard web browser and allow cookies. Bonusly has no point-of-sale integration, so check the terminal first.
Digital Signage: always-on screens
Digital Signage shows recent recognition on a TV in a lobby, break room, or nurses' station. No one stays signed in, and the screen can only display posts.
Each screen loads a setup URL that carries its own token, so it runs without a user session.
A screen cannot give recognition, read other user data, or change anything in Bonusly.
It shows peer recognition, awards, celebrations, incentives, and external recognition from the last 14 days.
It skips posts with more than 10 recipients, messages over 800 characters, and posts involving deactivated users.
Only Global and Tech admins can add a screen, from Company > Integrations > Digital Signage.
The setup link is shown once. If it is lost, add a new screen and revoke the old one.
Managing screen access
Each screen has its own entry, so you can revoke one without affecting the others.
The Digital Signage page lists every screen with its status and the date it last loaded the feed.
Screen access lasts up to one year. Bonusly emails the admin who added the screen 30 days and 7 days before it expires.
If that admin has left the company, no expiry emails are sent. Check expiry dates on the Digital Signage page and replace those screens.
To renew, add a new screen with the same name, open its setup link on the same TV, then revoke the old one.
Sign-in and account security
Shared devices use the same sign-in methods as the rest of your company. There are no separate kiosk accounts or shared logins.
People sign in with an email and password, or through SAML SSO.
Admins can turn on multi-factor authentication (MFA) for the company.
Workers without a company email
You don't need to create company email accounts for frontline staff. Each worker can join with a personal email address instead.
Turn on Invite Links so workers can join with a personal email.
Or sync personal email addresses from your HRIS through an HRIS integration.
Plan this before launch, since sites with many hourly workers may have a lot of accounts to set up.
The Bonusly mobile app on personal phones
Workers can also use the Bonusly mobile app on their own phones. Signing out on a kiosk also signs them out of the app.
