Setting up Activation rules

If you're using an HRIS integration, you can set up Activation rules to control which employees are automatically activated in Bonusly.

Updated over 2 months ago

By default, once auto-invite is enabled in your HRIS integration, all users imported to Bonusly will be automatically activated. If you'd like to limit which employees get automatically activated, you can set up Activation rules.

This article is best for:

- Admins

- Connect and Achieve Accounts 💼

Accessing the Activation rules page

To access set up Activation rules, you'll want to head to the Users>User management integration page and select the hyperlink to Manage activation rules.

You can also get to this page by selecting the "Configure Activation Rules" button from your Imported users page:

Setting up Activation Rules

On the Activation rules page, you can choose the criteria that Bonusly will use to automatically activate users. This might include factors like employment status, job title, or location.

You can set up multiple criteria that users must meet using the "Match All" condition. This means users need to satisfy every rule you specify - for instance, an Active employment status AND a position in the Finance Department.

Alternatively, you can use the "Match Any" condition for more flexibility. With this option, users only need to meet one of the criteria you set. For example, in the below rule, Part-time workers OR contract workers can be activated:

Once you've set up your Activation rules, click "Submit" to save them!

FAQ

Why can't I find a new user in Bonusly?

If you're having trouble finding a newly added user in Bonusly, their profile data might not meet your Activation Rules, which means their account hasn’t been activated and won’t appear on the Users>User accounts page. If you also cannot find them on your Imported users page, reach out to [email protected]!

What does "Activatable" status mean?

An "Activatable" user is someone who has been imported into Bonusly but has not yet been automatically activated. This usually happens if the user does not meet the current Activation rules setup in your account.
