Recaps help you and your team reflect on achievements, growth, and focus areas over a specific period. They provide a clear, time‑boxed summary of work, combining peer recognition, feedback, and goal progress.
What is a Recap?
A recap is a summary of someone’s work over a set period. It groups together:
Contributions/Projects – work you delivered and the impact it made
Skills – strengths demonstrated, with examples
Goals – relevant goals you were working on
Each item links back to the original recognition or feedback. You can also view a clean, printable “report” version.
Where to Find Recaps
For yourself: Go to Growth > Recap. The page opens your most recent recap, and you can select other periods from a dropdown.
For managers: Go to Team, select a direct report, then click Recap to view their summaries.
Printing: Use the Print icon to open a printer‑ or PDF‑friendly version.
How Recaps Are Created
Automatic quarterly recaps:
Generated at the end of each quarter for eligible users. Recaps appear in Growth > Recap once complete. On‑demand recaps:
If there’s enough data, you can create a recap for a custom date range. Managers can include reports, and employees can include their manager. These appear in a print‑style view but not in the automatic dropdown.
What Data Recaps Use
Peer-to-peer recognition you received (human-given, not bot)
Constructive feedback from the period, respecting visibility rules
Goals you worked on during the period
Notifications
When an automatic recap completes, notifications go to:
The employee
Their manager (if applicable)
Notifications appear in-app and, if opted in, via email.
Access and Privacy
Employees can always see their own recaps.
Managers can view their direct reports’ recaps.
Feedback respects visibility rules: managers see only what they’re allowed to.

Troubleshooting Tips
Recap not ready: Automatic recaps are generated at the end of each quarter; check back soon.
“Not enough data”: Try a longer date range or encourage more peer recognition/feedback.
Missing email: Ensure recap reminders are enabled in your email preferences; in-app notifications are still available.
What Value Do Recaps Add?
Recaps provide significant value by:
Simplifying Performance Reviews: They consolidate recognition, goal progress, and feedback, making it much easier to prepare for performance conversations.
Highlighting Achievements: They clearly showcase an employee's top contributions and skills as seen through peer recognition.
Facilitating Alignment: They include a feature for "Reflections" that allows both the employee and manager to select a Highlight and a Future Focus area, promoting clear alignment before a review.
Providing a Comprehensive View: By including goal-related activity and manager-shared constructive feedback (where permitted), they offer a well-rounded view of performance.
Quick FAQ
Question | Answer |
Why does my custom Recap say “Insufficient data”? | The time period you selected did not meet the minimum recognition or goal activity requirements. Keep recognizing peers or track goals/agenda activity and try again later. |
Can I include my manager when I create a Recap for myself? | Yes, be sure to use the "include manager" option during creation so they are notified when it's ready. |
Can my manager see everything I see? | Yes, but summaries for constructive feedback only include content that the viewer is allowed to see, respecting permission settings. |
