Celebrations are milestones that are acknowledged automatically based on user data like birthdays and hire dates. Celebrations can also be used to auto-send posts for events that occur on a specific date.
Please note, users must have Global Admin or Awards Admin permission to manage celebrations.
To manage your celebrations:
Navigate to the Bonusly Admin dashboard.
Click Recognition on the left-hand sidebar. Then, click Celebrations.
You will be directed to the Celebrations page. From here, you can view, edit, or deactivate your Celebrations.
Create a New Celebration
To create a new celebration:
Click the Create new button in the top right-hand corner of the Celebrations page.
Select one of the five preconfigured templates.

Creation Limitations
The following limitations apply to Celebration creation:
If a celebration’s Audience is set to Everyone, admins will not be able to create an additional celebration.
For example, if Everyone is eligible for a Birthday celebration, admins cannot create another Birthday celebration that only Sales and Customer Success department members are eligible for.
If a particular celebration’s Audience is limited to members of particular groups, admins can only create the same celebration for an audience within the selected group category (Department, Location, Team, or Role). This prevents duplicate celebration posts from being given.
If admins create multiples of a celebration and then change the audience to Everyone or switch to another group category, all multiples of that celebration will be deleted.
Export to CSV
Admins can export a CSV of all active celebrations for the entire year to learn:
Who has upcoming celebrations
If users have opted out of a particular celebration
When participating users got a celebration post
Total points given to date
To export your Celebrations to CSV, navigate to the Celebrations page and click the Export to CSV button.
Celebration Action Menu
Admins can manage any active celebration by clicking on the three vertical dots on the far right of the table row on the Celebrations page. Clicking these dots will open the Action Menu.
Send Manually
Click Send Manually on the Action Menu to send a celebration post to users that did not receive a post as expected.
To check if a user received a specific Celebration post, Admins should Export to CSV and confirm:
The user’s celebration preference is set to “Public”
There is no “Posted on” date listed for the Celebration post in question
Review Posts
Click Review Post on the Action Menu to view a feed containing all Celebration posts to date.
Edit a Celebration
Click Edit on the Action Menu to open the Edit Celebration screen. From here, admins can modify celebration details like point amount(s), image, message, and more.
Admins can edit automated celebrations at any time. Changes will not go into effect until midnight of the day changes were made. Changes will not affect any celebration posts for the current day.
Please note, admins can make changes to custom celebrations on any day except the celebration date.
Deactivate a Celebration
Click Deactivate on the Action Menu to turn off a celebration for any reason. Please note, admins do not have the option to manually rectify any custom celebrations for groups.
