When you lead people who also lead people, a flat list of direct reports is not enough. You need a clear view of recognition across your reporting line: who is being recognized, who is giving peer-to-peer, and which managers are covering their own teams.
The Direct Reports table on Team report gives you a recognition-focused view of the people who report to you. If any of them manage people, you can drill down into their teams from the same table.
For the full Team Hub overview, see Using the Team Hub to manage your team.
Where to find it
Open Your team in the main navigation.
Go to Team report.
You’ll see a Direct reports table with the subtitle: Click a manager to view their direct reports.
The date range defaults to last month. Change it when you want a different window for reviews, QBR prep, or a leadership update.
What the table shows
Each row is one of your direct reports. Columns focus on recognition (not pulse or check-ins):
Group | Column | What it means |
| Name | The person on your team |
Receiving | Recognition received | Recognitions received in the period — posts, add-ons, comments, awards, celebrations, or claiming incentives |
Receiving | Recognized by manager | Recognitions from you, their manager, in the period — posts, add-ons, and comments |
Receiving | Last recognized | The most recent date this person received recognition of any kind |
Giving | Given P2P | Recognitions they gave peer-to-peer in the period — posts, add-ons, and comments |
Giving | Last given | The most recent date this person gave recognition of any kind |
As a manager | Direct reports | How many people they manage, as of the last day of the selected month |
As a manager | Directs recognized | The share of their direct reports they recognized in the period |
As a manager | Directs not recognized | Their direct reports who went unrecognized by them in the period — click to see w |
The three As a manager columns only appear when at least one person at the level you’re viewing manages other people. If your whole team are individual contributors, you won’t see them.
When you select more than one month, those columns read Avg direct reports and Avg directs recognized monthly averages across the range, not totals.
Use tooltips on the column headers when you need the exact definition.
Search filters the table by name. You can also sort columns and page through longer lists.
Use the expand icon to pop the table into a full-screen view with pagination handy for large teams or presenting live.
Drill into a manager’s team
If someone on your team is a manager, their Direct reports count is actionable.
Click the row, or the direct reports count, to open that manager’s team in the same table.
The header updates to that manager’s name (for example, Jordan’s team).
You’ll see a row for each of their direct reports.
Use the breadcrumb above the table to jump back to any level — Direct reports › Jordan’s team › Sam’s team.
You can keep drilling for every manager of managers in your tree. You’re always looking at people you’re authorized to see in your reporting line.
This is especially useful when you need to answer questions like:
Which sub-teams are getting recognition, and which are quiet?
Are managers recognizing their own people, or only receiving recognition themselves?
Where should I coach a manager before a talent review?
Export
Export is a dropdown menu:
Direct report data — the recognition columns for the level you're viewing.
Extended team data — everyone below you in the reporting line, all managers and their teams included, not just the rows on screen. Only appears if someone below you manages people.
Recognition activity — the underlying recognition detail for your whole team over the selected period.
Tip: set the date range first, then export, so the file matches the period you're presenting.
How this fits with the rest of Team Hub
Drilling down is for recognition depth across your reporting tree. Use it alongside other Team Hub views:
Your team: month-to-date snapshot and quick actions
Pulse results: sentiment and themes (including Teams view for managers of managers)
Benchmark (the panel above the table): compare your team against the Entire company or any department on four recognition rates — avg giving rate P2P, avg receiving rate, manager-to-direct-report recognition rate, and directs recognized by manager. Collapse it when you want the table full-height.
This table doesn’t replace Recaps or Spotlights. Use those when you need a narrative for one person; drill down when you need a comparable view across many people.
Practical ways to use it
Before a 1:1 with a manager who reports to you
Open their row, drill into their team, and note who hasn’t been recognized by them lately. Bring one specific coaching question, not a spreadsheet dump.
For talent or calibration prep
Pick the review period, scan total recognition received and recognized-by-manager, then drill into any manager whose coverage looks uneven.
For a leadership update
Export the period you care about, then use drill-down live if someone asks “what about that sub-team?”
Weekly habit (10 minutes)
Open Team report, sort by recognition received or recognized by manager, and pick one person or one manager to follow up with.
FAQ
Who can see this table?
Managers with direct reports, in Team Hub → Team report. You only see people in your reporting line.
Why don’t I see pulse or check-in columns here?
This table is built for recognition patterns. Use Pulse results for sentiment and check-in trends.
What does “Directs recognized” mean if the person isn’t a manager?
You’ll see a dash. That metric only applies to people who have direct reports.
Can I search across my whole org tree at once?
Search filters the people in the level you’re viewing. Drill into a manager first if you need to search within their team.
