What is multi-factor authentication (MFA)?

Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is a method of verifying a person's identity (for granting access to a system) by requiring a password and one or more additional forms of authorization (such as a code, a fingerprint, or a smartphone app). All Bonusly account admins are required to have MFA enabled for an additional layer of security.

What is an authenticator app?

An authenticator app is a 3rd party app typically installed on your smart device that will continually generate one-time passcodes that you use to access your secured accounts. These one-time passcodes will expire after a set period, making it hard for imposters to guess the code and gain access to your accounts.

How to set up MFA for your Bonusly account:

Step 1: You'll need to access a multi-factor authenticator app on your smartphone, desktop, or as a Google Chrome extension. If you don't have an authenticator app, you can try one of the free options above.

โ—๏ธPlease keep your MFA app installed! You'll need to access it to generate a new passcode each time you log into your Bonusly account.

Step 2: Open the app to your preferred MFA provider

Step 3: Go to your Bonusly Account Settings.

Step 4: On the Settings page, click on Security.

Step 6: Click the Enable button at the bottom under Multi-factor authentication.

Step 6: A pop-up window will open with a QR code. Scan this QR code with your MFA app to generate your 6-digit authenticator code.

โ—๏ธNote: The authenticator code changes every 30 seconds.

Step 7: Enter the passcode from your MFA app and click verify to complete the setup.
